The summit brought together senior health officials, policymakers, and public health experts from across the country, offering a vital platform for States and Union Territories to share innovative practices and scalable strategies aimed at strengthening India's public health systems.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, in the esteemed presence of Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, and Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha. The summit served as a vibrant confluence of ideas, emphasizing how well-documented, community-driven innovations can shape the future of public healthcare delivery in India.
As a trusted technical partner of National Health Mission (NHM), Odisha, the Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) played a key role in supporting the preparation and execution of this national event. Working closely with the State NHM, the NIPI team curated thematic poster displays showcasing Odisha’s significant achievements across maternal and child health, community-led innovations, digital health solutions, and health systems strengthening.

Among the standout exhibits were the “Family Participatory Care & Kangaroo Mother Care (FPC-KMC) Initiative: Ensuring Last-Mile Newborn Care in Remote Odisha”, and “Swasthya Sampark: Strengthening Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) through Community Engagement in Hard-to-Reach Areas.” These exhibits attracted widespread attention from delegates, policymakers, and implementers for their relevance, innovative design, and replication potential.
In addition to content development, NIPI contributed significantly to event coordination and operations. Team members were part of the core organising group responsible for managing various aspects of the summit, ensuring a seamless and impactful experience. Furthermore, several NIPI team members served as Liaison Officers, providing logistical and hospitality support for senior dignitaries attending the summit, thereby ensuring their visit to Odisha was smooth and well-managed.
The 9th National Summit stands as a testimony to how collaborative efforts, community-rooted innovations, and strategic partnerships like NIPI’s can contribute towards building resilient and inclusive public healthcare systems in India.
