The Decision Support System (DSS) for Child Health is an Android mobile-based application prepared using IMNCI algorithms to assess and treat all under-five children for Common Childhood Illnesses. The DSS was introduced in the SAANs Abhiyan and Dastak Abhiyan in Madhya Pradesh. It was found to be an effective tool for primary caregivers to identify high-risk children. 

Looking at the tool's potential for not to miss any referral opportunities and facilitating systemic assessment of children for the present illnesses, the state has decided to train the RBSK medical officers on DSS.  There are a total of 1086 RBSK medical officers appointed in the state. 

A four-member RBSK team, comprised of Medical officers, nurses, pharmacists, and drivers, visits every village as per the schedule and conducts routine screening of all children, including children under five years of age. 

The state has organized a one-day orientation of the RBSK medical officers on RBSK software, where a DSS session was incorporated into the one-day training agenda. A total of 1060 RBSK MO training was planned, of which 1046 medical officers were trained in 22 batches from 313 blocks of 51 districts in the state. During the training, the application was installed, and hands-on training was provided using case studies. NIPI team has facilitate the training of all 1046 medical officer training for the state.
